The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville (ABC) and Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) have partnered once more to employ artists in the creation of original works of art for the Tennessee Pink and Pearl Campaign. The Pink and Pearl Campaign brings awareness to both breast and lung cancer in an effort to encourage women to get their recommended cancer screenings. All Tennessee-based artists are invited to submit portfolios, especially artists with a personal connection to these health issues.

From those submissions, a select group of artists will be invited to create proposals for art that explore themes of empowerment, self-care, prevention, awareness, and education regarding breast and lung cancer.  Artists selected to submit proposals will be awarded a stipend upon completion. One artist’s work will be selected and used in the statewide advocacy and awareness Pink and Pearl Campaign. The selected artist will be awarded an additional stipend upon the completion of the final artwork.

Artists are invited to attend an online information session on April 27 to learn more about this call for art. Representatives from ABC and TDH will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance. Interested artists should register for the information session here.
