TnWS member Alan Shuptrine, a nationally renowned watercolor artist and master craftsman, is known for his watercolor paintings and one-of-a-kind frames, water gilding,
frame conservation, and restoration. His realistic watercolors are highly detailed and exhibit dramatic lighting in both his landscapes and figurative paintings. He applies and controls his medium with various techniques, from wet-in-wet to drybrush. Shuptrine’s work, like that of his father (Hubert Shuptrine 1936-2006) is collected by our nation’s museums, galleries, private art collectors and corporate collections.
Following a two-year solo museum tour that traveled from the Tennessee State Museum to The Morris Museum of Art, and the Huntsville Museum of Fine Art, Alan released his independently published award-winning book, I Come From A Place.
He has exhibited nationally and internationally, received numerous awards, and is a signature member of TnWS, NWS, AWS, and SWS. Visit his website: www.alanshuptrine.com.
