Dr. Gopal Murti’s Bio

Dr. Gopal Murti has been living in Memphis since 1975. He retired in 2008 as the Director of Scientific Imaging in St. Jude children’s Research Hospital and as an Adjunct Professor of Pathology at the University of Tennessee Medical School. Dr. Murti is well known for producing colorful and aesthetically pleasing images using electron, confocal and multiphoton microscopes. His Scientific images have garnered many National and International awards and routinely appear in college and high school text books. Since 2008, Dr. Murti has learned watercolor painting and has already painted 200+ images on various subjects. He displayed his paintings at local banks, Atelier Annual shows, Memphis Germantown Art League exhibitions, WKNO Art shows etc. His eventual goal is to combine Asian Indian and Western art techniques to produce powerful and interesting images. Dr. Murti sees beauty in the nature and his eclectic taste is reflected in his paintings.
