Claudia has a B.S. in Art Education from Concord University, West Virginia and taught art in East Tennessee public schools for many years. Her postgraduate work includes several courses at the University of Tennessee, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and Savannah College of Art and Design. She has completed individual studies with nationally acclaimed artists including George James, Cheng Khee Chee, Mary Todd Beam, Polly Hammett, Joseph Smith, Tom Lynch and others in an effort to enhance technical skills and intellectual understanding. Recently she completed an international art course with Robert Burridge that included onsite instruction in Costa Rica.
She has exhibited her work through the Tennessee Watercolor Society and several Southeastern art organizations and is the recipient of awards regionally and statewide. She has work in several art collections, e.g., Science Applications International Corporation, Coors Ceramics, Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Hollingsworth Company, F&M Bank, Mrs. Roslynn Carter and many others.
