It has been a great two years serving as President of the Tennessee Watercolor Society. I have made very good friends and will always remember my experiences from these years. I am honored to be a part of a society with members who are masters of watercolor. I will remain on the Board as Immediate Past President. I look forward to working with the new Board. We welcome a strong group of leaders to carry Tennessee Watercolor into the future.
Linn Stilwell, our new President, is enthusiastic and has a strong background in leadership. Her experience will be an asset as she leads us to celebrate our 50th-year anniversary and through the next two years. Jan Alice Keeling has made our Members Gallery active again: Thank you for all your work on making this project a reality.
I want to thank all who served on the 2018-2020 Board. I loved working with each of you and we accomplished many things. And thank you to all the people who accepted a position on the new Board. I welcome you to service in an excellent watercolor society. Those who served in the past and those who continue serving have made a strong foundation that has made Tennessee Watercolor Society successful. There are a few open spaces on the new Board: Newsletter Editor, Writer, Bylaws, and a Chairperson for the Online Juried Exhibition 2021. Step up and join the Board to accept one of those positions.
We are living in unprecedented times in America. The 2020 Exhibition Committee has received an update from Bill Hickerson, curator of West Tennessee Regional Art Center. The attorney for WTRAC has advised there will be no public events for the next few months at the museum. Only groups of 10 or less will be allowed to visit. You must make a reservation in advance by calling Bill Hickerson at 731-784-1787, or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You will ship your paintings to West Tennessee Regional Art Center as directed in the information you received from the exhibition committee.
We covered so much last August at the General Meeting that there are no important issues we need to discuss at a 2020 Meeting except to install the new Slate of Officers. The new Board has been presented in the ArtBeat and will be accepted as presented since we are operating under very unusual circumstances. We will introduce the new Board at the Virtual Awards Presentation.
All good things must come to an end. So farewell, and I will enjoy my new position as Immediate Past President on the new Board.
