TnWS member Lil Clinard, is known for her large paintings on yupo. You may have seen her yupo watercolor paintings in the past three TnWS Exhibitions. She paints in both a realistic and abstract style and uses both intense and soft hues. She applies paint wet into wet, rewetting to activate dry paint and to lift, wet into dry and dry onto dry. With yupo you can use resist, scrape, or lift back to white for highlights. It’s a wonderful substrate. She has been painting watercolor on yupo for the last 10 years and has learned a lot through trial and error. You have an opportunity to benefit from her experiences.
