John Wilkison's Bio
John Wilkison was born in 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended
Vanderbilt University and graduated with a degree in Art History in
1969. He then went to teach art in Dyersburg, Tennessee, where he met
his wife of 43 years; shortly thereafter, he moved back to Nashville,
where he graduated from Vanderbilt with a Masters Degree in Painting
John has been working in watercolor since 1970. His paintings have
been handled by the Jamison Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the
Aronson Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia and the Cumberland Gallery in
Nashville. His works have been shown at the Montgomery Museum of Art
in Alabama, The Museum of the Southwest in Midland, Texas and the
Tennessee State Museum.
He is a Signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the
Southern Watercolor Society, and the Tennessee Watercolor Society. His
works are in private, public and museum collections.
